  18. XANTHUS ANNOUNCES $149 COMPETITIVE "UPGRADE TO OPENWRITE" PROMOTION
  19. Special Offer to users of WriteNow, WordPerfect, WriteUp and Pages

  21. San Diego, CA, December 17, 1994 -- Xanthus International today
  22. announced that there are only two weeks left to take advantage of
  23. the company's special "Upgrade to OpenWrite" promotion for its
  24. powerful new word processor for NEXTSTEP(tm). Users of any word
  25. processor for NEXTSTEP, including WriteNow(tm), WordPerfect(tm),
  26. WriteUp(tm), Pages(tm), FrameMaker(tm) or PasteUp(tm), may purchase
  27. a single-user license of OpenWrite(tm) for only $149. The offer is
  28. good through the end of the year.

  31. of WriteNow and WordPerfect, which are no longer available for
  32. NEXTSTEP, but we strongly feel that every current user of a word
  33. processing product on NEXTSTEP will benefit from upgrading to

  39. The product's advanced import and export capabilities allow it to
  40. open a company's existing WriteNow and WordPerfect documents, as
  41. well as those from virtually any popular word processors for the
  42. Mac or PC. "The integration is seamless" noted Jesper Lundh,
  43. President of Xanthus, "users can simply double-click to open their
  44. existing files in OpenWrite, then save them as OpenWrite documents
  45. or in a format that can be shared with other users on their network,
  46. not matter what type of computer and word processor they have on
  47. their desktop."

  49. OpenWrite is currently compiled tri-fat and will run on Motorola,
  50. Intel and HP PA-RISC based computers. A release for Sparc processors
  51. will be available in Q1, 95. Xanthus is fully committed to supporting
